It had a runtime of, at the time impressive, 10 minutes and  contained 14 scenes. In that time the first ever science fiction movie was created. A trip to the moon created by french filmmaker George Méliès tells a story of humans landing on the moon and being abducted by aliens, known as Selenites. They manage to escape and land in the ocean where they are celebrated as famed explorers. The film is one of the first ever to use practical effects and ilusions. These films had a huge impact on the industry moving forward, and paved the way for more ambitious filmmakers. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.denofgeek.com/movies/a-tribute-to-the-first-ever-science-fiction-film-a-trip-to-the-moon/%3famp https://www.guinnessworl...
