Iranian protests

Demonstrations continue in Iran following the arrest and subsequent death of Mahsa Amini, by the hands of Iran's "moral police", for not wearing her hijab properly, on September 16th. It's reported that at least 41 people died in the protests, security forces have fired live rounds at the protestors and were met with rocks being thrown at them, and their cars being torched. The government attempted to stop the spread of information about the protests by having internet blackouts. Countries around the world have criticized the Iranian government for it's policies and response to the protests. Hopefully the protests continue and can bring meaningful change in terms of womens rights in Iran. The brutal attempts at silencing the demonstrations causes more support internationaly for the struggles of Iranian women. Protests in support of the cause have been held all around the world. The protests sparked a conversation about women's rights all around the world and are great examples of feminism in the modern world.
