Movies in the 1960s
The 60s were a time period in wich a lot of the most popular movies were fiction. Great examples of that are: Psycho, 2001: A Space Odyssey. Psycho is a horror film that pioneers the so called "slasher" genre wich are movies in wich the main antagonist is a mysterious serial killer. It follows a woman named Marion that finds herself at a motel run by Norman Bates, she is invited to dine with him and after her meal she overhears Norman arguing with his mother about her pressence. Marion is killed while taking a shower shortly after, by a figure wearing a dress. There are two more killed, before Lila, the Sister of Marion discovers that Norman mother has been dead for ten years and he keeps her mumified body in his cellar. Norman tries to kill Lila but fails and it is reaveled that he is the murderer, he dresses up in his mothers clothes because she has become his second personalisty. The movie is widley celebrated and is considered to be one of the best horrors of all time. 2001: A Space Odyssey is a science fiction movie that consists of four parts losely connected by a strange and mysterious monolith. It starts with a group of prehestoric creatures finding the monolith and it helping them discover things like tools. The next episode takes place thousand of years later and follows the discovery of the monolith on the moon. The monolith is sending signals in the direction of Jupiter. There is a spaceship send on a mission to Jupiter to find out what those signals meant. The ship is controlled by an A.I called HAL 9000, the computer tries to kill the crew of the ship but is stopped by Dave Bowman, a scientist on board of the ship. They arrive on Jupiter, where Dave is pulled into a vortex of collors when he is trying to investigate a larger monolith orbitting the planet. Dave sees an aging version of himself in a bedroom. He sees a monolith by the bed and tries to reach for it, but before he can touch it he is transformed in to a fetus in a glowing orb. The movie is praised for its revolutionary special effects and accurate depictions of Space travel. It is considered to be the best movie of the legendary director Stanley Kubrick. Movies of this era greatly improved in areas like special effects visual storytelling.

I've never managed to watch more than the first 20 minutes of the Space Odyssey.
